Katie O.

BSc, RVT

Katie O. studied at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon, SK) and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in Toronto, ON, graduating with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Animal Biology. She later completed the Veterinary Technician Program at Georgian College in Orillia, ON.

She joined the GAH team in May 2023 shortly after graduating from tech school and has continued to grow her skills alongside an incredible team. Katie has been working in veterinary medicine for approximately four years and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician for just over two years.

She has a strong interest in rehabilitation and physical therapy, as well as surgery and anesthesia — areas that allow her to combine technical precision with hands-on patient care.

At home, Katie is kept busy by her three beloved cats: Shortbread, a sweet geriatric lady; Pumpernickel, a three-year-old tabby who lives for cuddles; and Felix, a one-and-a-half-year-old tabby and full-time mischief maker.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time adventuring in nature, hiking, staying active, thrifting, exploring new coffee shops with friends, reading, and of course, cuddling her kitties.
